About
I write slowly, on purpose.

I’m Ines Varga, a writer and interface designer living in Lisbon with too many notebooks and one very patient cat.
I started Notes in 2021 as a place to think out loud. Most of what I publish begins as a handwritten scrap: a line overheard on a tram, a photograph that didn’t quite work, an idea that arrived halfway through a long walk.
By day I design calm software for small studios and independent publishers. The two jobs feed each other. Writing teaches me to cut, and design teaches me to leave room.

How I write
Three small rules I try to keep.
Notice first, write second.
Every note starts with something I saw or heard, never with a topic I think I should cover.
Cut until it hurts a little.
If a sentence survives three readings, it stays. Most don’t, and the piece is better for it.
Publish when it’s true, not when it’s due.
There is no schedule here. Notes appear when they are ready, roughly twice a month.
