It rained every day I was there. Locals barely noticed. They carried small umbrellas and walked at exactly the same pace as they would in the sun.
A city that slows you down
Rain closes the distance between things. Cafés feel warmer, bookshops feel larger, and every conversation lasts a little longer because nobody wants to step back outside.
Bad weather is just a good excuse to stay somewhere longer.
Where I spent most of my time
A corner café with four tables and a window that fogged up by ten in the morning. I wrote most of this post there, watching reflections slide across the glass.
I left with wet shoes, a full notebook and a plan to come back in winter.
